Finding Comfort in Cold Weather

The winters in the Ft. Smith area have been getting milder each year, which I hate to complain about being such a cold-natured person, but without the steady cold next year's garden will be overrun with bugs, and my pets will bring in the blood-sucking insects that I loathe.
I am also very happy to be able to give my ever growing scarf collection a workout.  Ever since I started knitting a few years ago I find myself looking forward to the cooler seasons.

My husband has a good eye for thrift shopping.  He found me this Old Navy black wool coat for $5 the other day!  It is a tad on the snug side, but I love the cut so much that I can deal.

I have often been told that I dress like an old lady, and I like to take that as a compliment.  I saw an elderly woman wearing a scarf over her head yesterday and I decided to take a cue from her today. I currently don't have any winter hats that I love to wear, so I drafted a shawl-scarf that I got for my birthday last year.  I can't go wrong with such a classic style, at least not in my own eyes.  Wish I had a better picture, but I will work on that in the future.
